Avocado plant not growing

Hi everyone,

I need urgent help because i feel like my avocado is dying.
I grow my avocado from a pit last year and it has grown really fast last summer. In winter the growth stopped and the leaves turned into darker green while in summer it was lighter.

Two months ago I realized that I might have watered it too much. To avoid root rot, I repotted it, during which I might have damaged the hair root. All the leaves were wilting and many leave have fallen. Recently it has come back alive, meaning the leaves are "standing up" again. However since then the plant is not growing anymore, the small leave on top stays small and there are no new leaves coming out.

I am a little bit confused what I should do at the moment.
Should I put it into direct sunlight or behind the glass window? Last year it grew super fast in direct sunlight but currently as soon as I put it under the sun, the leaves are wilting.

What else can I do to boost the growth? Or to just make sure it doesn't die?

I live in the north of Germany and the temperature outside is only 10-15 degrees in April. I know this is also not optimal for avocado plants.

I have put so much care and effort to grow this plant and I feel too attached to it. Please help me save my baby  :'(:'(

Thank you all.

That looks quite healthy to me. I think you just need to be patient ... it’s only April.

Lots of good advice on this site ... including how to prune it to encourage it to bush out ... I’ve seen avocados grown like this and they make really attractive houseplants rather than the tall stem with leaves at the top which is seen so often.

Hope that helps ... good luck 🤞

Niedersachsen is not that different from England. Avocados are from tropical S America. I think you are a bit ambitious growing this outside. I would treat it as a houseplant and give it a summer holiday. Viel Glück!

They don’t like over watering,I water mine from the bottom and let it dry out in between watering.
