Lawn Problems

Hello
I have recently moved in to a relatively new house and the back lawn is very patchy, full of thatch and moss and after heavy rain large pools of water appear on the surface and it becomes very squishy. looking at the soil it seems to be mostly clay. I have done a bit of research in to how to improve this situation and get a better lawn and just wanted to run my ideas past others to gauge if what i'm planning will work/help.

step 1 lawn is going to be scarified and hollow tine aerated
step 2 going to spread a mix of clay breaker and british gypsum to help break up the clay
step 3 spread over chicken manure as fertiliser
step 4 over seed with a perennial rye grass seed
step 5 cover over the seed with natural compost

I know this won't give me an overnight fix for lush green lawn but would this help?
