Moss on lawn .. can I mix into soil for moisture retention

So my lawn is mainly weeds and moss - I’m over it - however I am filling up some new raised beds soon and wonder if the moss on the lawn can be utilised like sphagnum moss and Mixed into the composts for the raised beds TO help hold moisture??

    Good question, I wonder if it would start to grow in your raised bed and take over.
