Can I dispose of my winter prunings now? Being insect friendly...

Hello, I pruned the dead wood from my plants earlier in Spring. As insects are on the decline I'm trying to be more insect friendly and I saved the prunings. Do you think it's okay to dispose of them now and that any resident insects would have moved on?

Thanks,

It would be better, if you can, to bundle up the twigs in bunches and hang them in sheltered corners under shed eaves or trees or stash them under shrubs and in quiet corners where they can provide shelter and food for a variety of insects and their grubs.
