    How do they compare to other plants in willingness to root? Box is about the only thing I've had decent success rates with in terms of cuttings.

    If you get a decent pencil length of new growth, without a flower bud, it should strike in two weeks. That, sedum and pelargonim are the most reliable strikers I know of.

    These sort of Salvias (and Amistad etc) are very eager to root, try some in a jar of water. 
    "What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour".

    Give the cuttings a go. For me the only things that root quicker and easier than salvias are Tradescantia houseplants (I've taken to using them for foliage in hanging baskets for the summer) and Persicaria Red Dragon.

  • It was so so easy - just snipped a bit off, stripped the lower leaves off and shoved it in a pot of compost!! 2 weeks later they had roots!! Such a willing grower that's for sure :)
