Agapanthus leaves look bleached and floppy

My friend has bought several Agapanthus and they were planted into planters (couple of feet high) 12 days ago, directly from the supplier.  The plants looked fairly healthy at the time, but have since developed what looks like bleaching on the leaves and they are also very floppy.  Some leaves are yellowish and pale.  We have had a mix of weather in the South East since they were planted - mainly sunshine, but also a couple of cold days and the nights have been cold - we've also had some frost. Could this be frost damage or even wind/sun damage?  If not, can anyone suggest any other reason for the unhealthy looking Agapanthus?  She has been watering the plants every other day since planting as the soil is very dry.  She has other mature Agapanthus in the garden that are looking fine although they're in a slightly less exposed position.

I'm afraid I don't have a photo at the moment, but just wondered whether anyone else had come across this problem, and could suggest a solution.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    could be sun scorch?
It's early for deciduous varieties to be in full leaf, and if they're evergreen, they won't like the cold night. My evergreens are still in my polytunnel

If they're fresh from the supplier they'll have come from a protected environment and have probably caught cold after being planted outside without hardening off .  They need to be acclimatised gradually to both direct sun and night time cold.

It is certainly the cold. My established agapanthus are really suffering this year: having started to put up fresh green leaves, they have all been hit back. The plants from the nursery will have been started into growth and then frosted, night after night. In future, it would be well to protect them from exceptional conditions, but they may recover. Could I add - water them when they need it, not on a rota.
