    Roma is a bush type (determinate) so you don't remove any sideshoots.

    Having grown Roma for three years now, I would say they are one of the easiest tomatoes to grow.
    They germinate well, grow without fuss, need little care ( except a cane for the main stem to take the weight) and lots of room, as they grow as wide as they do tall ( but only half the height of cordon grown tomatoes) as these are bush tomatoes as Bob says. They also mostly ripen at the same time, a bit later than other large tomatoes.
