Dahlia rescue

A weeks ago I put young Dahlia outside in the sun during day but due to an emergency I did not bring them inside for a few days when night temperatures really dropped and air was super cold and close to zero. They have turned yellow and the plant has clearly suffered cold shock. Now they are back inside but it's difficult to know if they will recover - does anyone know how long to wait for signs of recovery? I would rather try to rescue than buy new bulbs.

Afraid I can't help, don't know where you live,I am in SE UK only 10 minutes from the sea,and mine won't be going outside even in the day for several weeks,I do leave some in the soil over winter, thickly mulched and covered, its usually wet that does them in
