Neighbours' weed killer-vegetables safe?

Hello,
I need some opinions on the following:
My neighbour has watered (NOT sprayed) his front garden grass with commercial weed-killer (don't know the brand). I have some vegetables growing in pots/beds next to the boundary, only separated by a low brick wall (about 60cm height). I'm really worried that through evaporation and the wind, part of the product has reached my vegetables. Should I discard them completely? Could I still use the soil?
I am really annoyed and worried about this and would really appreciate some advice. Thank you in advance!
Sara

I would have thought if the weed killer had reached your vegetables they would either be dead or now
     showing signs of dying.
Be thankful he was considerate enough to water and not spray,

Hi @sara.benedii_M4vFnW  and welcome to the forum :)

I think if he's watered it in your veg should be fine ... there would have to be a very strong wind to blow it over to you.  Spraying would be different of course. as spray can drift.

Are your plants showing any signs of being affected by the weedkiller?  If they continue to grow healthily I wouldn't hesitate to use them.  However in the event that they produce distorted growth in the next week I would discard them ... after showing them to your neighbour.  It might be a good idea to have a friendly word and say that if he plans to use chemicals near to the boundary of your garden you'd appreciate a heads up so you can move things away temporarily or erect a sheet of plastic as a screen just while the treatment is being carried out.

If he watered it in, it is less likely to have an effect on your veg.  Spraying in breezy weather would give you more cause for concern I'd think.
I've never weed killed a lawn but some weed killers become inactive in the soil.  Is there any chance that you could ask your neighbour what he used ?  There are a number of knowledgeable people on here who could then advise you.
