Hi and welcome to the Forum.
I'm not sure it IS a weed.

    I share @Hostafan1 ‘s doubts.

  • I sort of assumed (never safe to assume!) based on how fast growing and invasive it seems to be. But that’s true, it may not be a weed.

It looks similar to the way a peony sprouts, but i think it is too late for them.

My first thought was a paeonia, but a wee bit early to be sure

Yet again we agree ... but a bit early as you say.  My other thought was something like rhus typhina suckers, but it's a long while since last I saw any so ...

  • I’ve done a bit of research this morning and I’m wondering if it’s fireweed. There’s a lot of it, not just the one plant. Has anyone seen it before that might be able to confirm?

By 'fireweed' do you mean this ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamaenerion_angustifolium  often called Willowherb (there's several plants known as 'fireweed' ... that's why a lot of us try to use the latin names as well).

Anyway, if that's what you mean, no it's not that ...

I'd hold back a week or two until you're sure.

It’s spring ... at this time of year everything should be growing quickly as the soil warms up. 😊
