prunus lusitanica half standard Height

Hi,

new to the forum (and gardening!). I’ve purchased a Portuguese Laurel 1/2 standard with a clear stem of 1 metre. I’m trying to decide on the best place to plant. I definitely want to plant rather than keep in a pot.

can anyone advise on how tall and wide the 1/2 standard can reach? And rate of growth. I bought from a plant nursery and the staff member was quite inexperienced and didn’t know!

It’s a beautiful small tree so I bought it anyway. Keen to make it a specimen in a sunny border if it will fill out enough.

thanks in advance

Can we see a photo of it please?

  • Of course!  Current height is c. 6 feet including the pot. You can see there's some longer growth at the top. Do you think it could grow quite sizeable if i let it keep growing?
