GARDEN FLOODING
I have quite a large garden which floods when it rains I have put a French drain in that leads into a field but I still get excess water , my garden is lower than the house at the side of me I'm just wondering if highering my ground level would help and how do I go about doing this?

I don't think I can help but I don't think anyone can answer your problem without actually coming to see the problem!
Did you put in the drain or did you have a firm do it and who advised you about it?
Is it possible you needed more drains if it floods badly?
I am also not sure on the legal implications of draining water into someone else's property.
I'm sure it was mentioned in here somewhere but there are 11 pages!
I know a farmer who's rich neighbour put a drain in to run into their field. It flooded a field with no record of flooding in three generations of ownership. They had no way of getting it rectified as they didn't have the money for legal action. They did however assist the national rail with finding out that it also flooded the base of west coast main line and let it play out. I think this year there was no winter flooding. I wonder why???!!!!!
Anyway my point being unless the OP's drain causes big problems i doubt they'll get hassle from the farmer for the drain.
