New lawns problems

Hi! I’m new to the forum and am in need of some expertise. Last summer we dug up some flags and laid a new lawn (on top of lots of new top soil) it all looked fine until recently where slits starting to yellow and go patchy. We’ve not cut it this year, it seems a bit thin to? We don’t have the best drainage and am I sure what to do to save it! It’s like this all over. Any help appreciated, thank you!

    Welcome to the forum.
It's not easy to see what is going on with your lawn as the picture is a bit small but it looks as though there are gaps between the turves which suggests they have shrunk. Has the weather been very dry in your area recently?
  • Thanks for your reply! I’ve added a bigger (I think!) picture, I wouldn’t say it’s been particularly dry, if anything I was worrying it might be too wet as always seems damp to touch
  • If it has shrunk, what’s the best course of action? Reseeding?

I can't really see much of a problem. Most lawns won't look great this time of year.
Once the grass starts growing and you  start to mow do it on a high setting.
Cut too short weakens the grass so little and often.
Don't use a granular feed as it's difficult to apply correctly and you can end up burning the grass, so if you want to feed chose a liquid one.
If you Google lawn care there will be lots of videos  etc.
