Saxifraga

I planted this in my makeshift rockery at the front of the house (full sun). Almost immediately, this plant drooped over like this (see pic). I have other saxifraga plants that haven’t done this. Does it just need cutting back/maintaining so that the stalks don’t get that long?

These types of Saxifragas prefer cool root run with partial shade. I have killed a few hoping full sun can be fine, but they are very sensitive to prolonged exposure to sun, especially midday sun.

I cannot comment on the plants themselves as it is possible they may have been grown in protected conditions and normal outdoor conditions may cause them to suffer. Ensure you have watered them thoroughly and continue to do that for the next week. If they deteriorate, it may be they will need to be pruned back.
  • Thank you for the advice. I’ll give that a go and hopefully they bounce back.
