Weed Tree query

I have 2 trees in my garden that just appeared and my neighbour says are weeds. They are blossoming and thriving at the moment. They usually bear small green fruit (just smaller than plums) which quickly go mushy and drop. I don't want them to impact on the health of the garden so would be grateful for some advice as to whether to remove them. Thanks

    Could be Shepherds Bullace

Much prized in Suffolk at least for making wine, crumbles and pies.

Very traditional cottage trees, disregarded by 'proper gardeners' for many years but now seeing an increase in popularity.  I would love to have one here.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

If you like the trees, keep them. The only real way they will impact on the garden is that certain things won't grow underneath them very well due to the shade and they may take up more water than other plants in the garden. But just because they are "weed" trees doesn't necessarily mean they are a problem, and if they are the trees that @Dovefromabove describes, then they will be good for wildlife and good for you! Weed is just a term for a plant that a gardener didn't intentionally put there, but they can still be good things to have.

If you like them and wish to keep them, then do so, and if you don't like them, it's your garden, you can take them out and replace them with something that you prefer.

Personally, I think they look beautiful and I would keep them, but that's just my opinion!

Thanks very much for your replies both if you. I have only just seen the update notifications buried in SPAM.

    Much appreciated 😊
