Sweet Peas - when to plant outside WM region UK.

West Midlands area, I would like to know if it is okay to plant out sweet peas now? I have a few articles but I am still not certain.

    I've got some in a pot that I'm bringing outside during the day and putting in a plastic greenhouse at night. BUT Monty said on GW two weeks ago that he is putting his outside now because they are tough enough. I'm just a scaredy cat!

    Sweet peas are hardy. Some years I sow them outdoors in the autumn and they’re just fine. Just harden them off for a week then plant them out. 😊 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Had mine outside for a couple of weeks, under cover but not in greenhouse, and they are doing fine.
    Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

    Mine are planted outside now after a period of “hardening off” lm in the North west.

    Mine are out already, because I was inspired by Monty on GW 😆 The only thing I didn't take into consideration is that Monty and I live in very different climates. Oh well, it's been a week since and they are still looking ok, so they must be hardy enough.

    Mine have been outside in ground for just over a week and so far survived frost nearly every morning and even a bit of snow. But if they die I'm blaming Monty 😂

    I’m gardening mine off over 4 days and they’ll be going in the ground.. next week’s weather should be much milder which is convenient. I have also sown another batch though so even if this batch fails I will still have some sweet pea flowers to pick in summer..

    I planted some out a couple of weeks ago,  I have been putting a fleece over them when the temperatures are low but they have all survived so far.

    Thank you all, planted out today, so crossing my fingers. I also have another batch on the go. Hopefully they will be an extra  and not a replacement.

    I planted mine out in the beginning of March, hardened them off first in the days for about 10 days and used fleece for the first week at night if frost was predicted but left them since then and they are thriving, already have some flower stems and buds forming.  I am in Cornwall though so we are quite mild down here, we have had frosts but not heavy ones.
