Paulownia Tomentosa - will branch grow back?

I cut a single branch right back to the trunk this week (early April) as think it’s was dead. Will it grow back out of the trunk or is that it? I understand the tree grows back if you cut the whole thing right down but not sure how that works for individual branches.
