Help is my olive tree dying? The leaves are growing at the top but underneath they have fallen off

Posts

  • That poor olive looks like it had been butchered in the past. Is the area shady and a bit dry? It looks to me like the plant may be conserving resources by dropping lower leaves and keeping the ones that have access to the sun. Looks a mess to me, not sure if I'd keep it there. Far too many weak stems were kept in the first place after the massive chop it had. Another option would be to try and thin the branches, but the natural shape has gone forever.

  • Hi thanks for your help this hasn’t had a chop we bought it two years ago and it was fine last year but this year this has happened. This is the sunniest dude of the garden which is why we put it there.what do you think.
  • It just kinda dropped all its leaves then the top ones grew back
