Pond rejuvination

Hi, I have a small neglected pond that’s been empty except for water and mosquitos. I didn’t change the water as it’s rain water. I’ve put a few oxygenators in, a water marigold, a few snails, a bulrush, and a water cress. Pond skaters have appeared but the water is still very murky after 3 weeks. Will it sort itself out or do I need to take it all out and change the water? Any advice? Thanks

The water will clear or improve at least, but it will take time.  New plants take time to settle in and will then start drawing nutrients from the water.  You can get barley straw to put in the pond which certainly helps clear algae.
