Pennisetum thunbergii 'Red Buttons'

Good morning - I wanted Pennisetum thunbergii 'Red Buttons' last year but was unable to get one.

I bought seeds this year. There weren't many in the packet and 3 weeks on I can see no signs of germination (indoors).

I am not giving up yet but if anyone has advice that would help, I'd be grateful. I would buy a plant but they are sold out everywhere I look. Thanks

It's that time of year when we all plonk seeds into pots and keep our fingers crossed and no matter what it says on the packet, some of them don't germinate. According to the myths, your pennisetum should take three weeks max to germinate but it pays to be patient, or failing that, plant some more and hope for the best. Sometimes a second sowing may yield results because the conditions are slightly different.....maybe warmer at night for instance.
