Have I Killed My Rose Bush?!

Help please fellow gardeners

I'm a newbie to gardening and thought I'd be clever and move my rose bush from one side of the garden to another.

I dug as wide as I could around it to try not to cut the roots too much, but it was really awkward with narrow boarders and a wall behind it.

I've re-planted it and since then, the leaves have started to wilt....

It's been moved for about 3 days now and I've watered it twice.

I also added some compost into the hole before I re-planted as I've got clay soil.

Any ideas?  It's not all brown while is a bonus (for now) haha!

Cheers

If it were mine I'd prune it by at least 1/2..... hopefully it will survive the move

@Mary370 Ooo thanks - I was thinking about pruning it as I'd read now is the time but wasn't sure if the move plus pruning would finish it off.

I'll give it a go, can't be much worse I suppose haha.

    Thank you!

If you move them when they're dormant, they don't know they've been moved. With any luck, yours is still half asleep😊
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • @B3 I hope so! It was just getting some new leaves on it, so fingers crossed.
