    I think aquarium grit would be worth a look, especially if you can buy it in bulk.
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    What about ordinary play sand sold by the bag at Lowes and Home Depot?   Seems like that mixed in would be OK.
