Primulas wilting

Can anyone tell me why my primulas are wilting and what I should do?

In the ground or in pots? Potted ones can be prone to vine weevils eating the roots.

Frost?   When it's cold some plants go limp to protect themselves and then perk up as it warms up.

Thirst?  It's been very dry in some places so if the droopiness persists all day, water them.

If it is thirst, make sure you water in the morning after all frosts have gone so the plants have time to absorb all they need before nightfall and more frosts.

Are they in full sun? It may be cold first thing in the morning and all night but some plants can wilt when the sun hits them, especially as it has been dry in many places.
  • Yes, probably too much sun and not enough water.
