What is this plant?

Hi there
I found this unmarked plant in my local garden centre with the herbaceous perennials.
I liked the leaves so I bought it.
Anyone know what it is??

    I agree. Lupin.

Ah ace! I went to actually find a red hot poker, so this is pretty close. I wonder what colour?!? Now I have something to look forward to!

    Thank you

Much nicer plants than Kniphofias, in my opinion - those can sometime be thuggish and can look scruffy for long stretches of the year.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Interesting! I've had some in a pot that have never had quite enough sun to properly 'flower'.. and this year is the first year I will do. But scruffy for long stretches.. not good. So they will stay in the large plastic pot that fits inside the terracotta pot and I'll move them when they dont look good I guess?
