Moth Chrysalis

Can anyone identify this moth (?) chrysalis. Found on leaf litter in the border of my rock garden yesterday 10 March 2021. 20p coin for scale. Yes it’s BIG!

No idea, best guess though is that it will be a hawk moth of some kind just based on the size. Moths have cocoons by the way, only butterflies have chrysalises and they're very touchy about cultural appropriation. :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Oh! That wouldn’t do! They might take umbrage and buzz off!🤣Seriously I find the metamorphosis process fascinating, from egg to larvae to genetic soup to adult! Amazing!
