Growth on Chinese Money Plant?

Hi,

I've noticed this weird looking growth around my Chinese Money Plant, wondering what it is? Is it harmful at all, should it be removed?

Pilea peperomioides. That is just the flower forming and nothing to worry about.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
