What’s wrong with my very sad camellia bush?

I have camellia which has only flowered once since I’ve had it.. the leaves all seem healthy, well they look like the others around the village, but whilst they are all a stunning mass of blooms, mine is just leaves..
Can anyone help me to cheer her up and be beautiful next year?

Hi @nikki.gilyeat. We give our camellia an ericaceous feed every 2 weeks or so, during the growing season. And water well during summer and Autumn if it is dry, as that's when the flower buds for the following year are formed. They tend to drop off otherwise. Good luck 🙂

My parents grew camellias on light soil ... they found that giving several thorough soakings from late summer into autumn was the key to lots of blooms the next year.

Yes, it is summer and autumn when they really need water. I don't feed mine any more than the border it is in but I do water and it flowers very well.
