What other stick can I just stick in the ground to grow?

Monty showed us how to stick a Cornus stick in the ground and it would root - is there anything else I can do that with too (apart from Willow).

    You can break off a piece of sedum and stick it in the ground, water it and it may well grow.

    Thank you! Would that be the Autumn Joy taller type or the spreading alpine size? I have both, I could try both!

    I've done it personally with Autumn Joy.

    There are quite a load of plants that will grow from just a bit of root.

    Buddelia and fuchsia often root from a stick as well.

    Winter jasmine roots if a stem touches the soil, so that's probably worth a try as well.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Gooseberries and currants of all types will also root that way.  Best done when they have lost their leaves in autumn.  Just cut a 20cm section and bury two thirds of it.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    I've done roses this way with mixed success.
