What to put under greenhouse

We are making a polytunnel greenhouse with plastic sheeting so no glass.  It will be heavy so don't need to know how to fasten it down as I have this covered but the ground it is going on is clay and is like walking on porridge.  I can't use a concrete base so what other ways would be best to stop it sinking.  I don't need a soil base.  Any ideas?

Our polytunnel was also into clay and we understand your concerns.
However porridge or not we didn't use any base apart from the soil it was on.
It didn't sink and has been a great veg/fruit part of our garden for some 15 years....it hasn't sunk.

There are lots of Polytunnel's at our allotment, none of them are on a base, they just sit on the ground, which is London clay.  Unless you live in a bog, your problem won't be sinking, it will be preventing it from blowing away in high winds.

Make sure you securely pin it to the ground, ideally weighted with something.
