What would you plant here?

I am looking to create a hedge that runs down the left hand side of the path. See pic at the bottom. It's around 3 - 4 metres long. The purpose of the hedge is to screen the bins from the neighbours on the left. And to also provide some fragrance to mask the smell from the bins.
The key things I am looking for are as follows;
- evergreen
- fragrant
- bushy
- pretty upright so as to not invade the path
- something that is ok with partial shade most of the day (it is West facing and only gets sun towards the end of the day)
- something that will pair well with a Photinia red Robin
- something that will grow to 1.5-2 metres quite quickly
- not too formal (I.e. Box)
Do you have any suggestions? I have been looking at Daphne but any help is appreciated.
