Tomato seedings

My seedings are getting leggy I've got them on the window sill of a bedroom with heating off.
When is it safe to move to my greenhouse?
I'm in Essex.
Thank you

When the average temperature in your greenhouse is above 10°C at night they should be ok.
For me, also in Essex that's sometime in June I'm afraid

    Thanks Pete.8
I might have started them off too soon ....
  • If they're leggy, you could repot them deeper. Tomatoes take really well to this as the small hairs on their stems can form roots when buried in soil, giving you a bigger root ball and stronger plant. This should also buy you more time until you can move them outside.

Don't give them my any more heat, but turn on them regularly, that's the secret, when I say regularly,I turn mine 3 or 4 times a day, appreciate you may be out at work, are they a green house variety? I always sow mine late January early February, north facing kitchen window sill, now potted on,and conservatory window sill also north facing

That’s exactly what I do,  they do indeed make a very strong plant. Don’t worry about leggy tomatoes.

  • I repot and bury the stem as well: make very strong plants as roots form of the buried stalk.

    Thank you everyone

They are on southwest facing window
I'll report deeper I'm Turing them every day but can do more often.

    Thank you all
