Survival of echium Pride of Madeira!

This is the first time I have posted here,  so I hope I'm doing it right! My lovely 3 year old Pride of Madeira appears to have just about survived the winter, but has lost a lot of its leaves. I don't know whether to leave it as it is or cut it right down. Someone put on a photo of theirs with new shoots coming through, but I can't find it now! I was so proud of this plant. It was massive and believe it or not it had buds in November! I live on the south coast and it's in the ground. I did fleece it! Any help or advice much appreciated!

I’d leave it as it is. Ours is in its third year ... I think this may be the year!

Fingers crossed for yours too 🤞

I agree, leave it, don't cut it down. Ours got really bitten by the frost and icy winds on the North Norfolk coast this year, all the lower leaves turned black but the central rosettes were fine and are growiing through now and I'm pretty sure they will flower normally this year.

I've lost most of the leaves, but the plant is still alive.  Fingers crossed it'll survive the next couple of nights.  It's going to go down to -2 where we are! Think the Pride of Madeira are more delicate than the tree echiums; they are still flourishing
