New expression for April

Here is a new idiom for April here in France

"Si en avril tu fais l'imbecile,
En mai tu restera encore à ton domicile."    :D:D:'(

Happy Easter everyone.  I hope you are able to see your families today.

I think we could do with an equally catch English version.

@Jennyj  We are again in lockdown for a month.  A friend went out on her bike today for a spin and said there were "herds" of people walking along the sea front!!  Families are allowed to be together for Easter and so lockdown will start officially from this evening rather than Friday.  Many "out-of-towners" deposit their children with granny and head back to the cities to work from home etc.  I suppose it is the same with you.

There are certainly more people out in the streets, and the supermarket was hooching on Friday, with many people not bothering to keep their distance. I haven't been to any public outdoor spaces recently but I'll bet parks, beaches etc are packed. Meeting people from other households is allowed now, with limits (either two households or max. 6 people I think) and with social distancing, but give an inch and some people take a mile.

I think Pepys said it quite well during one of the years of Plague all those centuries ago

Nice quote from Samuel Pepys shame he didn't write it.

It's the message that counts, not the messenger.
