Banana plant

Good day, we moved to a new home in November, not knowing exactly the plants and trees we inherited. I do believe that we have a banana plant which had some wide green leaves. It hasn't faired too well over the winter due to some snow. But I'm wondering what care I should give it now in spring that will help it best.
Thanks

Hi. Where abouts are you? Most banana trees aren't UK hardy and require moving indoors or wrapping in fleece over winter. If its been left out in the snow it may not recover.

Was it protected in any way, it's usually wet in the crown that causes the rot,
  • Is there any remedial action that I can do at this stage?

If it’s a musa basjoo it will likely be fine. I would cut down the brown stems. New green will emerge from the ground once it warms up.
