Leucojum

Hi All,

My daughter moved house and I told her not to dig anything up until it has had the chance to flower.  She has lots of bunches of what I am pretty sure are Leucojum flowering now.  Given all the completely separated places in the garden that they are growing it makes me think that they could propagate by seed.  Is that possible?

    You can grow them from seed but I suspect that they have been spread around by redistributing offsets.

    Definitely Leucojum vernum, probably Gravetye Giant  which is the most commonly available one.

    Thanks for the comments and confirmation.  My guess was redistribution over a long period of time.  Enjoy the garden.

    My leucojum decided not to show up this year. Must be the clay soil. The crocuses and daffs were ok with it!
