2023 update. Got someone to make a sunken patio and the much awaited greenhouse arrived a few days ago. Also made a gravel garden bed out the front, grew veg for the first time in 3 raised beds (aside from the blighty tomatoes a mild success) and extended the bed around the well as suggested by forum folk. Need to do a huge amount of weeding/mulching/grass seeding and move around/rejig the perennials in the main bed but definitely feel like we're on the right track these days. Next year will be the relaxing gardening year I'm sure... Hmm.... 😂
Thanks @Lizzie27 and @AnniD, all credit to the landscaper! I said I wanted some sort of circular space and that's what he came up with. You can use the wall as a seat so if it ever stops raining we'll use it loads. Aim is to plant right up to the side of it but that'll be another weeks job.
I suspected as much on the work front Anni D but don't tell my husband or he may crack up 😂 Poor guy was out re digging the holes for the paving slabs til 11pm last night as we have to move the orientation to meet the patio entrance.
