Have I planted my dahlia too deep?

Hi All
I have recently repotted a dahlia which flowered in the same pot last year. I refreshed the compost about a week ago but I have just realised I may have planted it too deeply. I have covered the crown and all the the tubers with a lot of compost. Do you think it will shoot ok or should I get it out and replant it so the crown is exposed
Thanks for any answers
Betty

  • I usually just make sure last year's old stem is sticking out of the top.

How deep are you talking? How much soil above the tuber?

I'm sure it would be fine as long as you don't over water it early on.
