Echium pininana

Hi-I’m a novice so need some help please-i live in North Wales and 350m above sea level so it gets pretty cold up here. I’ve grown some from seedlings and were looking fab in the greenhouse overwinter in large pots but recently some leaves turning brown and curly. I’ve cut off lower leaves and even replanted 3 in the ground outside but frost got to them and they died. Any tips on caring for these wonderful plants would be greatly appreciated 🙂

    Hi and welcome.
That's bad news about your gorgeous plants. I have never grown them but looked on the trusty RHS site and they recommend protecting the plants with horticultural fleece during frosty weather. https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/6295/Echium-pininana/Details

They can often look quite scrappy until they get going in the warmer weather, they grow fast and look very different with the heat. A picture would help to see how bad things are

Lost mine, again, this winter,  I’m not bothering again, they need a lot of warmth which they don’t get here.

    Hi again,
here’s a couple of them. It’s the ends on certain leaves that are curling and turning brown and other than feed and watering them and cutting off bottom droopy leaves I don’t know what to do. Thanks
