Sciarid Flies?

I made frames with insect proof mesh for my veg planters a couple of weeks ago and now they're full of flies that can't get out! I think these are sciarid flies but wondered if anyone can confirm, and most important, what's the best way of getting rid of them? The wooden frame is 22mm wide, so these flies are around 7mm excluding antennae.
