Tree I.D. and very worrying weeping/bleeding

Hi everyone, a friend of mine has inherited this tree (Betula or Prunus of some sort perhaps?).

In my view it has been butchered by someone. My friend says that it has been  seeping and dripping for a week now. Any advice and information would be lovely. I hope it will survive!

Many thanks

David

Obviously someone has cut off that branch fairly recently for it to be weeping now. There isn't much you can do but let it heal. It might be a paperbark cherry - Prunus serrula, AKA Tibetan cherry.

I think it could be Betula utilis 'Fascination'.  Birches are notorious for "bleeding" if they're pruned at the wrong time - best done between late summer and early winter.  Hopefully it'll recover but I'm afraid there's nothing to be done to help it...   :/
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I think it's one of the peeling Birch, Betula Albosinensis hybrids.
    Imight be wrong.
