Barnsley baby

Hi all. I have a lavatera Barnsley baby. Looked great last year, so far this year there doesn't seem to be any new growth. Is it still too early? I have hollyhocks starting to appear and they are the same family I believe

Bit early. When it starts to shoot, cut it down so there is lots of new shoots.
