Is this juncus/rush?

This appeared in the garden a year or so ago and I haven't figured out what it is. Google thinks it is juncus or soft rush. As far as I know it didn't flower last year and my garden is not particularly waterlogged, which I thought was necessary for rushes.

    Yes, Soft Rush.

    I agree ... soft rush ... doesn’t need water ... it’s happy with ‘damp’ and can cope with quite long spells of ‘dry’ from time to time.

    Often found growing in neglected pots.

    Well it was under an unloved tree in a neglected garden, so it makes sense. I am thinking about digging it up and putting it in a planter or maybe the little raised bed area.

    It’s pretty invasive ... and can grow quite big pretty fast if it’s happy. To be honest I think it’s a lovely plant for damp riversides, village greens and commons ... I wouldn’t invite it into my garden unless my garden was several acres and had room for large wildlife wilderness area.
