Grew this from seed, should I pinch out the growing tip? To encourage side shoots

    Which variety of cucumber are they?  You pinch-out the tip of outdoor ones when they have 7 leaves, so the one on the right looks like perfect timing for doing that.  Indoor varieties are treated differently.  The RHS has some good advice on both types:
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Carmen is a greenhouse type, so once t is planted in the greenhouse, train it up string or other supports until it reaches the roof, then pinch out the top.  Side shoots will develop which will carry more fruit, and you pinch those out 2 leaves after the forming fruit.
