Stronger trowel

I bent my DeWit Victorian style trowel planting snow drops. Anyone have any recommendations for anything stronger?

    They are expensive, but I have never managed to damage my sneeboer hand tools.  Other than the fact that the trowel and hand fork now have dents in the wooden handles that fit my thumb .....testament to a fair bit of use 😀😀😀

    I don’t suppose you’ll welcome another DeWit recommendation but tools in their ‘Welldone’ range are very, very strong. Sourcing them is another matter - commonplace in USA and Australia but rarely stocked here.

    Oh I have no problem with DeWit. It is a lovely trowel, just slightly wonky now.

    I'll keep a look up for the "well-done" and Sneeboer and see what comes up in the UK.

    So it turns out DeWit do a trowel forged from one lump of steel, handle and all. Allegedly you can even smack it with a hammer. I've ordered one and will report back on how it goes.

    I use one of the many archaeology trowels I have around the house, but that's just because it's what I'm used to. Not really the right shape for gardening, though! 😜

    I've got a cheap steel trowel from B&M, critically it's made from a single piece of steel, no handle attachment. Similar to this but a bit cruder.  In fact I have ordered this one because the handle looks comfier. I would never buy one that wasn't made from one piece of metal again, every single one I've had has bent.

    I bought the De Wit "Bad ass" trowel. It is _very_ solid and won't bend. It is quite heavy and not as cupped as the one it replaces so not my perfect trowel but it should at least survive my mistreatment.

    I've had this for a week now, and it seems very strong, very happy with it.

    I don't suppose graduating to a small spade, once the job gets too heavy for a trowel, is an option?
