What destroyed my allium!

Yesterday this was a chunky, tall allium with a nice pointy bud inside. This morning it is completely flattened & destroyed. What happened?? The sticks & pots are my shocked response this morning and completely pointless in hindsight. They look not just as if something laid on it, but also shredded it. Cat? Fox? Squirrel? I thought they were inedible to pests. No alliums for me this year 😭
