Plants with Burgundy coloured leaves and maybe verconicestrom

I'm trying to add a bit of colour to my borders with maybe herbaceous plants with Burgundy leaves.
Also with the tall verconicestrom (please excuse spellings.) 
 I thought if I went for the white flowers of verconicestrom it would highlight the borders.

Any suggestions please?

    Also where do you find the best company for verconicestrom ? I'm wondering if it's a new plant?

    Veronicastrum is found on many mail order sites if they have it in stock.

    If you want a shrub cotinus is good but large but can be hard pruned.
    Sambucus black lace.
    Some heucheras are burgundy/purple
    I think you can get a hardy geranium with dark leaves.

    I'm a sucker for purple / dark foliage. @K67's suggestions are great (and I have them all) then you can add 
    - Angelica gigas prupurascens
    - Ajuga reptens black scallop
    - Cercis canadensis forest pansy (small tree)
    - Clematis Montana
    - Phormium black velvet or other dark leaves
    - Cryptotaenia japonica astropurpurea
    - Some Dahlias have dark foliage (eg. Bishop's children)
    - Euphorbia purpurea
    - Some Hellebores
    - Bergenia Rubens
    - Paeonia rocky
    - Hylotelephium Purple Emperor
    - Ophiopogon nigra
    - Ricinus (various types) - but very poisonous
    - Weigela foliis purpureis (shrub)
    And so much more :)

    Physocarpus opulifolius — there are different varieties with varying sizes/heights depending on what you need

    Eupatorium rugosum  "Chocolate", now known as Ageratina altissima.
    Heuchera come in some lovely burgundy shades, but vine weevils just love them.

    Eucomis Sparkling Burgundy.  You couldn’t get any more Burgundy.  A beautiful plant.

    @SophieK’s suggestions are great—I would add to these Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Ravenswing’ or Angelica ‘Ebony’. A very good place for these kinds of plants in my experience is Claire Austin. It could also help to read Planting: A New Perspective by Oudolf and Kingsbury, which I have found very helpful when it comes to choosing and grouping tall perennials if you are after that 'prairie' sort of style. But there are other styles of border where you could use these plants too.

     I love Veronicastrum. 'Erica' is a particularly nice one with white flowers opening from claret buds.

    Sedum 'Matrona' has a slight purple flush to the foliage - not as strongly coloured as Sedum 'Purple Emperor' etc but it's a nicer plant IMHO.

    Actea 'Brunette' or 'Pink Spike' are very darkly burgundy/purple, not too hot or dry for those though.

    Eupatorium 'Baby Joe' would look great with the Veronicastrum, as the flowers have a contrasting shape. Burgundy stems and young foliage, but the leaves end up a dark green.

    Panicum 'Shenandoah' would be an excellent grass to use, it has a mix of green, bronze and claret red leaves and cloud-like bronzy flower heads.
