Any tips or advice - stone wall weeding

As it says really, we have a beautiful stone wall in our new to us back garden which we are slowly bringing back to life, it’s been neglected for a long time and some pretty heavy duty grass has taken up residence. I have a patio weeding tool and intend to do it the old fashioned way but wondered if anyone has any tips or advice?

Thanks so much

Weed carefully would be my tip as that isn't a wall but stacked stones that don't look very secure!
You could cut back the grass by 3/4 and then apply weedkiller.
I suspect the roots of the largest clumps are going to be hard to get out manually but you mught be able to cut them out in chunks, a bread knife is  good for this or a hori knife but untill you start you won't know which method is best.

Thankyou! I won’t use weed killer, I garden without chemicals but happy to do some hard work! I did suspect that it’d be very much the way my grandmother showed me when I was a child. Hopefully it’ll clear the way for some nice alpines

One of those 'life's too short to not just use glyphosate' situations for me I'm afraid. I wouldn't have a clue otherwise, other than to dismantle the wall to get at the roots.

The problem is I don’t want to kill the other plants in here. Maybe one I can paint onto it?

Think you can buy it as a gel. Use gloves and rub it along the leaves.
If you cant get gel I am sure I read about mixing it with some wallpaper paste but I might be wrong!
