Second lawn seeding

Hi all

i have searched the forum but can’t seem to find an answer.
we recently moved into our first house and the edges of the garden were warn and had no grass at all, it seemed to have been used for plants in the past.
I tended the ground and removed weeds and stones then added some decent top soil and ramens in and firmed down then added grass seed and firmed down again.
this was roughly 3 weeks ago, I am now getting a nice growth of grass but can still see some soil (the grass is very thin) my neighbour told me to add more seed and rake in, I am worried by doing this it will effect young grass growing and potentially the thin grass currently will grow more thicker as time goes by.

so do I add more seed or leave it till this first seed is more developed?

Wait, you can always add more later.

Agree.  Let the new grass get its roots down.  Cut it high when you do cut it for the first few times.

You can still sow again in April, if needed or next September.
