Should I feed a newly planted rose?

Hi, I planted 3 David Austin climbing roses in November (bare root plants) and they are growing, which is promising! I planted them in a new raised area which had been dug out completely and filled with organic compost. My question is .... should I feed them now (as I read this is the time to give roses a feed) or not, as the compost is so new with loads of nutrients still present? I’m fairly new to all this and want to get it right so comments from all you experienced rose growers would be a great help. Thanks

    I would feed them, yes.

    Nutrients in commercial composts only last 90 days so yes, feed them every spring with slow release fertiliser for roses or tomatoes and give an occasional liquid feed of tomato feed between April and mid July - no later as you need new growth to have time to harden off before winter.
