Have you fed them well with a high-potash food such as Rose or tomato feed ?  Potash stimulates flowers which obviously produce fruit etc.  I feed my tomatoes, peppers and French beans with it.

They flower on year old wood or older, so perhaps you need to wait another year?  They are normally cut back after flowering and the new growth produced this year will flower next year.  If they don't flower by the end of April, I suggest cutting them back by 1/3rd, which will stimulate fresh growth which will hopefully flower in Mar/Apr 2022.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Yes--patience is your friend as @BobTheGardener says. I am in an area with clay and they are like weeds here, flowering in neglected bits of hedge. But you have to wait for them to mature.
  • Thank you everyone, I don't want them living here rent free!!! They have to flower or produce in some way. I remember my father in law who was a fab gardener said there's one thing gardening does is teach you patient's I'm getting there Ray
